Politico’s Dylan Byers writes about Chuck Todd getting a satellite radio show…
Chuck Todd, one of the busiest journalists in Washington, is adding another title to his resume: Radio host.
Starting Dec. 7, the NBC News political director, chief White House correspondent and MSNBC host will get his own radio show: Unscripted with Chuck Todd, a weekly program on SiriusXM P.O.T.U.S. channel 124. The show will air Saturday’s at 9 a.m. ET.
In an interview with POLITICO, Todd said the show would give him an his guests an opportunity to get beyond the restrictions of television.
“I want to have the types of conversations with elected officials that you don’t get to have on TV — a 20-minute conversation with [Vice President Joe] Biden, [Sen. Marco] Rubio that allows people to get to know who they are,” Todd said. “On TV, there’s a time pressure. This environment allows us to show that people are more interesting than their soundbites make it seem.”
