Word has reached me of another NBC News:VIPs survey that has been distributed to its mailing list of viewers. There have been others but they weren’t about cable news so I wasn’t interested. This one was all about MSNBC’s early morning weekend show Your Business. According to a tipster this survey went into some detail about the content and focus of the half hour business show as well as the now almost obligatory questions regarding whether viewers were paying attention to the sponsors or not. These News VIPs surveys do seem to spend an inordinate amount of effort wanting to find out whether umbrella sponsorship of programs/segments actually registers with the viewers…moreso than they want to find out whether the content of the shows/segments registers with viewers…
